In this Bringin’ On The Heartbreak guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all of this classic Def Leppard power ballad note-for-note.

Released in 1981 off of their High ‘n’ Dry album, “Bringin’ On the Heartbreak” helped Def Leppard gain more success in the U.S. after MTV started to play the video in heavy rotation.

The song is dominated by guitarist Steve Clark’s killer guitar riffs and solos. We will be using the original standard tuning.

I will go through all the sections of the song as the appeared on the original recording. First up is the harmony guitar intro. I will demonstrate both parts starting with the lower harmony part.

From there we have the verse which contains a really cool arpeggiated chord progression . This riff can be a little tricly to get just right, but sounds really nice once you get it under your fingers.

The remaining rhythm parts of the song are pretty simple consisting of just power chords or single note riffs.

There are 3 guitar solos as well (not counting the harmony guitar intro). The first solo occurs after the first chorus and contains some unison bends and a quick little ascending blues lick.

After that we have the main guitar solo which will take you all over the fretboard. There isn’t anything overly flashy about this solo, but it is very melodic and musical throughout. It will be good for any intermediate level and above guitarist to play.

I will also cover the quick outro solo at the end of the video lesson.

I hope you guys enjoy learning this Def Leppard classic! #bringinontheheartbreakguitarlesson #defleppard #guitarcovers
