Hello friends,
And welcome to another by request song tutorial! In this lesson I’ll be breaking down Eric Clapton’s 1977 version of J.J Cale’s “Cocaine. I’ll take you through the main riffs, intro licks, guitar solo and some of the blues positions you can use to create your own lead lines. Let’s get started!

  1. Dagnabbit!!!! I just KNEW the funky guitar part was played at the 12th fret but my chord theory ass said, No – it must be an E9 shape at the 7th fret but it never sounded right when I played it myself 🙁 A superb tutorial, M'sieu!

  2. Thank you very much for this excellent lesson.

  14. Great lesson!!! One small mistake though … At 32: 45 the scale on the high string hits 7th (not 9th) and 10th fret as you say.

  15. Excellent, as always. Thank you.

Could you do a tutorial showing the main ideas and some of the riffs in 'Reconsider Baby' from 'From The Cradle'?

  16. Good lessons nice man 😀 Keep up good work

  17. Perfect lesson style that has it all. Good pacing, multiple guitar parts and riffs, as well as solo. Clear and concise and even vocals to boot. Also so helpful to do a short play through upfront. Keep them coming and please don't change a thing.

  18. aren't the first few chords the same in N.I.B. by Black Sabbath? 😀
Or at least, that's one way to play N.I.B. imo
