I'm not a bass player as I am more guitar oriented but I do love real funky bass grooves and I really dig Rhonda Smith and Ida Nielsen who played for Prince. This video was great and very easy to follow (as are all your videos!) Kinda want to go and buy a bass guitar now I've seen this! Keep up the good work Eric, you're the man!

  13. Its 525AM and I am jamming at my dinning room table with my P-bass. Fantastic! This is awesome- hungry for more- greatjob!!!!!

  14. Just came across your instructional video. Very well done. I have been playing for quite a number of years, and for those just beginning your explanations are simple and to the point without assumptions. That is to say, you don't presume and or assume that the student "should already know these things." Again, well done and immensely instructional. A good teacher can simplify the complex.

  15. As a new bass player with under two months under my belt you make it fun and ez to play a groove. I even took these same grooves and used them on other song. Thank alot Eric for you help. I'm on my way to player gospel music. AMEN

  17. Eric Great lesson. I know what I will be doing for the next few days. bought a Schecter c4 because I wanted to try an active bass. Thanks for all the great videos.

  18. I love using the backing track to just relax and improvise on those lazy Saturday afternoons. I own a fender deluxe jazz v and It's so much fun to slip in those low notes every once in a while. I really appreciate the content you produce.

  19. Hey Eric, I love the sound of bartolini mk1's I'm not sure if thats whats on that bass. I have a sponsorship with Ibanez & switched to the Nordstrand Pickups as an upgrade. There are some tones I miss with the Barts. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
