  1. Great stuff Will and another awesome job and video! I think I speak for most who have watch your other videos, and say thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and experience with us. It's great to see someone make, what at times seems complicated and not obvious, into something that the "average Joe" can understand. So please continue making your videos, and I would also like to suggest (as others have) making a few videos on your equipment and setup, and why you use it that way. We can all benefit and leverage from each other's knowledge. Rock on Brother and thanks again!

  2. I like the banana strat

  3. I use the blues scale which is great as I am a bit tone deaf.

  4. great lesson, pennies dropping. many thanks

  5. That sharp note around 3:40 sounded pretty good

  6. Bravo Buddy

  7. I am still having problem finding out where to go as for example I am soloing in c mayor but then the song goes to g mayor and then to f mayor. Do I play three different scales as the song changes (C G and F mayor scales)? Or there is a way to play all of those scales on three or four frets?

  8. Everyone gets to grasp music very differently. What makes immediate sense to one person can confuse the next. Modes, scales, chords, playing technique….finding out if you are a finger guy a thumb guy or a pick guy or a bottle neck or metal rod dude ?
There is a lot in this lesson and the tutor makes mistakes and confuses himself even after many years of experience.
That is why the likes of George Benson, Don Andrews, Bruce Springsteen are exceptional guitarists……it is not an easy instrument to master.

All lessons taken have the potential to make you improve. But it is not just about doing the lessons…….they really have to sink in and they really have to be diligently practised.
But then……not everyone wants to be a Star…….just to have some fun with it.
Keep it that way. If you suddenly find that it all makes sense and you can go for a starring role……..YOu will……………

  9. Good clear well expained lesson.

  10. I am self taught also Will thank you so much for filling in a lot of cloudy areas

  11. wow, thanks for all this info. this is by far the best info video ive ever seen. like you always talked about people just shred up the neck. but you explain whats really going on. thanks for this. i hope to see more like this.

  12. John Gammuto (Blind John)

WILL,  DO NOT EVER CHANGE YOUR APPROACH TO TEACHING. MANY, MANY PEOPLE WILL LEARN TO PLAY GUITAR TWITH YOU AT THE HEAD OF THE CLASS. I AGREE WITH THE PREVIOUS COMMENTOR ABOUT THE INORDINATE NUMBER OF THIEVES OUT THERE JUST HITTING CREDIT CARDS ON A REGULAR BASIS, FOR SOOOOOO LITTLE RELIABLE INFORMATION. WHEN YOU CAN GET A NEWBIEW BUSTING A FEW SELF TAUGHT RIFFS AFTER A SHORT VIDEO SUCH AS THIS, YOU HIT THE MARK MY FRIEND.  BEST REGARDS,BLINDJjOHN

  13. Very good, thanks. you have just taught me more about technique and theory than anywhere else. What evades me is the sound from the equipment. Many videos cover how to play guitar. So few explain what can be done with simple effects. Will you ever do something like this? I suppose I can sped time and money, but time and money is what I'm short on. Once again, thanks for your help.

  14. Thank you!

  15. "The only time it doesn't sound fine is when you're actually hitting a note that's not within any of the scales."

    True, except in Jazz ;)

  16. Thank You !
Very easy to understand and makes complete sense to me ..Awesome Job !

  17. If you want to be introduced to the world of lead guitar, a good place to start is Mark Knopfler's Sultans Of Swing. There is a difference between Lead guitar and Soloing.

  18. Dave “Fenthedog” Duvalier

Love the lesson but I was distracted by the guitar. That`s one ugly guitar! :)

  19. Thank you!!!

  20. i always take watching youtube videos/tutorials for granted and just skip one to another, just wanna say thanks man your a real great teacher :)
