In this guitar lesson, Steve Stine shows you how to play the song “Zombie” by the Cranberries.
Steve approaches teaching this cover song in a few different ways, so you can find what is best for you and where you are in your guitar journey.
This song is fundamentally Em C G and D guitar chords, but there are a few different ways you can approach playing them, as well as a couple different approaches to strumming and rhythm choices.

Again, always remember, the most important thing is that you gain confidence and have fun playing, but educate yourself on some level at the same time.

    Thankyou mate

  3. There's are at least 4 ways you can play the D chord in this song. Especially when distorted. All sound good. Was hoping he would show them.

Hey, Steve That was simply remarkable.. I was wondering if you could verify the strumming pattern-
    DDD-DU-UD-DU-DU

  8. I get the value of different approaches, but what I really want when I watch tutorials is for the exact way the original artist plays it… That seems so undervalued on most videos :/

  9. For the life of me I can’t get the strumming down. Only been playing a couple of days now but that’s the one part that has me hitting a wall now

  10. Always the strumming kicks me in the ass thanks for your help

Thanks so much for this lesson! I picked it up so quick because of your amazing teaching skills!

  12. I am a metal guy but Zombie is a masterpiece of a song. One of the best "non" metal songs ever played and to be honest I was privileged enough to see the Cranberries play it live one time and it rocked as hard as any metal song. It sounds amazing as an acoustic version or with the amp turned up to 11.

  13. Amazing because you the only guy who showed the single strum/hammer on your first cord. Great Video Steve!!

  14. Really good stuff Steve

  15. strumming pattern:
    DDD/DU/UD/DU DU
    hammer on:
