Chord charts and the backing track are available to my Patrons. If you find my videos useful, please consider supporting me:

These videos are designed for guitar beginners or those with only limited guitar knowledge. They use simple chord shapes as much as possible and do not necessarily represent the way in which the song was originally played. They are designed as practice tools to supplement your other learning methods. Information is provided on screen for both right and left-handed players!

This acoustic arrangement of Ava Adore is designed to be strummed through busking style. I’m playing it in E minor, but you can play along with the original song in F minor by using a capo on fret 1.

It is similar to the live acoustic versions Billy Corgan has played, although he uses a guitar in a different tuning. Very basic chords for the most part, apart from the B minor which is a full barre chord. The best way to think of this chord is as an A minor moved up 2 frets, and then you lay your index finger behind it like a capo.

The song has a very funky, choppy rhythm. I throw a few muted strums in during the verses to simulate the heavy drum sounds. I hope you enjoy this very different take on the song.

  1. I can not get the strumming pattern even in slow motion (even if you are very fast)
I have doubts about the pattern of strumming. By parts, the intro can be:
    Em dd
    xxx dud
    Em ududu
    G ddu
I am a beginner but I would like to practice chords with this song that I love

  2. Is reversing the chord diagram something you started? I've been playing as a lefty since 05 and have never seen them any other way but standard.

  3. Forgot how catchy that song is. Thanks for sharing.

  4. hey can you do brand new- Jude law and a semester abroad? that’ll be great!

  5. Wow, it sounds good. I'm going to practice it right now.

  6. the best guitar teacher to learn … I love your lessons

  7. Great lesson!
    Love the pumpkins!
