In these Summer Song guitar lesson videos you will learn to play Joe Satriani’s most beloved track note-for-note.

Besides being extremely catchy, Satriani’s Summer Song is chock full of scorching guitar lines that will challenge just about any guitarist.

Take your time through the various sections of this Summer Song guitar lesson video series by not trying to play all of the fast guitar lines at full speed immediately.

You should instead shoot for a complete understanding of the various guitar techniques and look for patterns that are repeated within them.

After that you will start to notice that what once looked like a million random notes, begins to make sense as just a few patterns that are combined and repeated.

Practicing those individual guitar patterns by themselves before tackling the entire thing will help you develop much faster.

By the way, this is true for just about any fast guitar player. Their most difficult guitar parts can usually be broken down into a few basic components that are repeated down a scale or arpeggio etc.

So have fun mastering these lessons, it is almost impossible to not be smiling while playing this great tune. čÖé

  1. I understand you're a great guitar player, and you explain the sections in great detail. It's really hard to play the parts slow, because they don't mingle as well versus at speed. But please cut off the delay while demonstrating parts. Am I the only one in YouTube land that is completely irritated by this? Holy shit man. It must be my severe case of hyper-vigilance. Thanks for putting these out to us.´╗┐
