‘In this bass lesson I discuss how to create bass runs and grooves using pentatonic scales on the bass guitar.’

Scott has studied with an amazing host of world class musicians including Skuli Sverrisson (Allan Holdsworth), Jeff Andrews, Ralph Alessi, Ravi Coltrane, Brad Shepik and Adam Rogers. He was also lucky enough to study extensively with Gary Willis in Barcelona from 2006 to 2007.

  1. 3:25 Fire alarm beep caused me to replace every fire alarm battery in my house and my 130lb great pyrenees to freak out and piss herself. Right when I kept sitting down to practice a fire alarm would beep and my dog would freak out. for 1-2 hours this continued. I had to put her outside a couple of times.

  15. Thanks for these video lessons, Scott!…I've ascertained a lot of crucial information about bass guitar from them and I believe it has substantially improved my playing…I thank you very much for sharing your adroit knowledge of this instrument and I hope to learn more from you in the future!…

  16. I prefer the genandtonic scales.

I spot a Markbass LM III.

  19. I don't fucking understand! Every video I have watched trying to learn these scales has not helped at all.

  20. Found this impenetrable. You're plainly ill with cold, hence the stuffed-up voice, gloves and insulated tank top. And your smoke alarm needs a new battery – it keeps beeping throughout.
