About the Instructor
Veteran Guitarist, Educator and Composer
Joe Elliott is a veteran guitarist, educator, and composer with a three-decade professional history in Los Angeles, spanning film, TV, studio, and live music, and is currently highly engaged in the Minneapolis/St. Paul music scene. He has had the great fortune to play with a multitude of world-class musicians, including David Sanborn, Virgil Donati, Marco Minnemann, and Stokely Williams, among many others.
Beyond performing, Elliott spent 30+ years dedicated to music education, ultimately serving as Vice President and Director of Education at the Musicians Institute (M.I.), and later as Guitar Department Head and Director of Academic Administration at McNally Smith College of Music.
Joe is the author of several instructional works for Hal Leonard and McNally Smith College of Music and he currently shares his comprehensive expertise with students globally through his online courses Fretboard Biology and Newbie Guitar.
